Trigger Memory, Life or Death…

Our dinner menu tonight consisted of pizza. I actually had this post written earlier and we are having pizza again for dinner tonight. With my exam on the list of things to do this week, I needed less work. Luckily, I asked my husband. He asked, “don’t you have some you wrote ahead of time and haven’t posted yet?” This is how God works sometimes. I looked and came across this post soon after. Then, I realized the connection, and thought, “This is the post to share.” When making pizza, we shred the cheese block so there’s not added ingredients that make it cakey. It was very stringy and my youngest had a big strand going from her mouth. This brought me back to a memory of eating at Penn Station. I told her to be careful and not let it get too long because of what happened to me.

What took place?

When I was in high school, my sister worked at Penn Station. We would eat there and receive a family discount. One of the times, I sat at the restaurant with 2 other people. I was trying to enjoy my sub, when the strand of cheese was too thick and long to swallow. It was about a ruler in length of thick cheese that I couldn’t get to disconnect for me to swallow. The others were paying attention to each other and didn’t see me in distress. I was having a hard time breathing, so I knew I had to take action. I was able to pull the strand out to breathe. When eating the rest of the sub, I made sure the cheese was not stringy before chewing. I finished my pizza sub that day, but never ordered that sub ever again.

Other attempts for my life…

I take this as one of the many times Satan has tried to take me out of this world, but God. God saved me at birth, despite the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck 3 and 1/2 times. I recently learned it was around my mid section and arm also. He saved me from lightning. I was riding a bike on my way home from the pool during a storm. As I came near a tree, a bolt of lightning was in front of me on the sidewalk. I believe the rubber on the bike tires are what kept me safe. God saved me from drowning in a pool. Someone was holding me under in the deep end as a game and they held me under too long. I was able to kick them to get their attention just in time and get to the surface and breathe.

In conclusion…

Accidents that tried to take me at the beginning of life, before high school, and later in life, but God. God knew the plans that He has for me and kept me safe through this and more in my life. God is so good. You may not see God as good. Have you ever wondered why bad things happened to you in your life? If you have, Job is a Bible story you might want to research. You may have thought God had things happen to you on purpose, but He didn’t. He gave all people, who are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God, a choice. The enemy wants temptations to come in our way. Those who choose sin and wrong have that choice. Those who choose to try and do right have a choice. We all have the freedom of choice.
