I looked out the window
What looked like a leaf
Was a lady cardinal
Looking for things.
I looked again
And there was a squirrel
Balancing on the fence
As if practicing for a dance.
Coming out to the car
The male cardinal I see
Checking out the scene
Safety is key.
Animals busy throughout the day
Food and shelter for all
Let’s sing our makers praise
